Required for a well-known International shipbuilding companies group Senior Buyer IT.

As Senior IT Buyer you have a strategic role. You have broad experience with sourcing strategies and all kinds of IT vendors and where needed you can negotiate the contracts of key IT vendors for Damen. But your role is more than that. From your experience with IT organizations and your knowledge of the IT vendor market, you can interact with both the CIO, IT Management, the Manager Security & Architecture as well as the manager VCM . You report to the manager VCM. As of now, the VCM team consists of 4 vendor & contract engineers that secure contract management and operational procurement. As an subject matter expert, you play a crucial role our sourcing strategy and in getting Damen the best (IT) contracts. In your role you will also interact with the various other IT disciplines such as Business stakeholders, IT management, Security & Architecture, and of course, with our vendors.

Key accountabilities:

Together with CIO, IT Management you play an key role in our vendor and sourcing strategy

Ensure that the contracts of the vendors placed under your domain are competitive, transparent, complete and properly executed

Provide regular insights/ updates regarding ongoing negotiations to MT and other stakeholders

Work on the basis of contract renewals (for existing demand)

Work as participant in IT projects (for new demand)

Skills & experience:

Extensive knowledge of/ and experience with today’s IT-market

Minimum of 10 years relevant working experience

A Relevant Bachelor or Master’s degree

Good command of the Dutch and English Language (written and verbal)

Able to communicate on a clear and professional level with various stakeholders including the IT MT, the IT Business Partners and of course, our vendors.
